Recommended path through Access series

Microsoft Access 2007

Microsoft Access is a database program designed to enter, store and retrieve data through the use of queries, forms & reports. In addition to training on the use of the program, our courses also cover basic concepts of effective database design.

We recommend that participants take the Microsoft Access 2007 courses in the following order: Access 2007 Fields & Tables first, Access 2007 Relationships & Queries second, and Access 2007 Forms & Reports third. After the Forms & Reports class, the remaining Access 2007 courses may be taken in any order.

Access 2007 Primer

Recommended Prerequisite: Experience with Access 2003 and familiarity with creating tables, forms, and reports in Access

Note: This course only covers the Ribbon and new features in the program, not basic use of Access.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Work with the Ribbon

Access 2007 Fields & Tables

Recommended Prerequisite: General knowledge of the Windows operating environment and experience with one or more Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint or Excel

  • Add Fields
  • Assign Data Types
  • Navigate Fields
  • Navigate Records
  • Set Field Properties
  • Format the View of a Table

  • Use Operators in Queries
