Recommended path through Dreamweaver seriesAdobe Dreamweaver CS3

Adobe Dreamweaver is a Web design tool that allows designers to create pages and manage Web sites through a graphical interface.

Following the Creating Web Pages course, you may take the Dreamweaver series of courses. We recommned the following order:

Getting Started, Images & Links is the first class, Introduction to CSS is second, Tables, Assets & Spry is third, and Multimedia, Rollovers & Publishing.

Note: In order to skip the Creating Web Pages course, you must e-mail training@missouri.edu to assess your skill with WYSIWYG editors, FTP and browsers.

Creating Web Pages

Prerequisite: General knowledge of the Windows or Macintosh operating environment

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Design for the World Wide Web
  • Describe the Web
  • Login to a Web Server
  • Dissect a Web Page
  • Create a Web Page
  • Upload to Bengal
  • Modify Web Pages

Dreamweaver CS3 1: Getting Started, Images & Links

Recommended Prerequisite: Creating Web Pages

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Explore the Workspace
  • Plan and Define a Web Site
  • Create a Web Page
  • Import Text
  • Set Page Properties
  • Place Images
  • Create Image Maps
  • Modify Image Properties
  • Insert Background Images
  • Create Links and Link States
  • Apply CSS Styles to Link States

Dreamweaver CS3 2: Introduction to CSS

Recommended Prerequisite: Dreamweaver CS3 1: Getting Started, Images & Links

  • Format Text using CSS
  • Create a CSS Style Sheet

  • Manipulate Layers
  • Add Flash Buttons
  • Insert Flash Text
  • Include Windows Media and QuickTime Files
